I know people say time flies, but wow…it’s been 10 years to the day since Aaliyah Dana Haughton was tragically killed in a plane crash.
The Brooklyn-born, Detroit-raised artist certainly left her imprint on the world of R&B throughout the early 90s. I can rattle off at least a half-dozen or more songs that I used to “bump in the ru.” (ok, so yeah…I drove an ’84 Subaru back then!)
During the short time she was with us, “Baby Girl” (Aaliyah’s nickname) accomplished much in her 22 years. She entertained us all as a double-platinum selling artist, dancer, model and actress. Aaliyah was a true talent.
Be sure to tune into to BET tonight at 8pm EST…as they pay tribute to Aaliyah.
