Adventures in Home Audio!

By T.L. Brown · On December 10, 2013

This may come as a surprise to many of you. And to be quite honest, I can’t believe it myself. In fact, it’s highly probable that you will be stunned by the confession I’m about to make. Oh well–here goes. *closing my eyes and blurting out the next few lines*

For the past SEVERAL months, I’ve been getting by without a cd-player in my car. “So what about your mp3 player?” you might be thinking. Well, let’s just say i’m the not-so-proud owner of a broke-down iPod classic. 2nd generation. You know…the white one with the really thick battery on the back.

(Remember this one?)

Ok…so there–I said it.

But wait that’s not all. The truth of the matter is…I’ve also been living without a properly functioning stereo system at home for even longer than the defunct cd player and iPod . Ok, close your mouths and quit staring at the computer screen. That’s right. Yours truly. The chief musicophile at Hear What I Hear has been experiencing some trying times without real audio capabilities. You’re probably wondering how in the world has she been surviving. How is she HEARING? Let’s just say I’m thankful for my cable music channels, my laptop and a rickety pair of portable computer speakers. (which by the way are on their last leg and have a shortage in the wire)

Alright, there you have it. My true confession. The first step was admittance. The next step is to research the various components I’ll need, plus compare prices (cause you know I’m all about finding a bargain) and then slowly but surely I will begin building my very own, grown-up stereo system. Piece by piece. Did I mention I’m finally gonna cop a turntable too? ! Yep, I am! Let the vinyl collecting begin!

Once this masterpiece of a sound system has been created I will likely never leave home! Well at least not for the first few days! I’ll be sure to keep you posted on my progress!

Until Then…I’ll be dreaming of a boomin’ system!
