Stress-free Saturdays present the perfect opportunity for me to combine two things I enjoy most: listen to music AND write about what I hear. So, I’m taking full advantage of this today by pulling together the next installment of Headphones 2 Headnods. (Not to mention that I’m at the car dealership waiting on the service team to finish up with my car.)
As a refresher, remember my Headphone scale:
If I LOVE it = Two Headphones…Let the Head-nods begin!
If I LIKE it= One Headphone…With the occasional head-nod.
If I Have NO COMMENT= Headphones Off…shutting down the iPod. Lots of head-nodding, but from left to right NOT up and down!
Simple, right? Ok, let’s get started.
Much to my delight, I’ve managed to get my hands on a preview copy of Esperazna Spalding’s upcoming release–Radio Music Society. And I gotta say after listening to it in its entirety, the Oregon-native has compiled material for her 4th cd that’s worth savoring. Finally, some ear-candy! Listening to Esperanza is easy. She and her bass give us all great stuff to listen to!
This 12-track offering includes several standouts that have already caused me to reach for the repeat button. In particular, the album’s title track, “Crowned and Kissed”, a spicy little remake of MJ’s “I Can’t Help It” and lead single “Black Gold” ft. Algebra Blessett.
In all honesty, I could have listed every track on the cd, but I’ve gotta leave some room for you to explore and discover on your own!
To sum it all up, Radio Music Society gets TWO HEADPHONES from me. That’s right TWO HEADPHONES! I can’t wait to hear your thoughts about this project!
Well my car is about ready, so let me wrap this up…and pull out the checkbook.
