This Song of the Day (SOTD) has been in my head off and on for a few months, but I just hadn’t blogged about it. And as I was watching a rerun of Soul Train tonight, wouldn’t you know…it happened to be Patti Austin’s “A-selection” on that particular episode. (Of course, you remember how the musical guests on Soul Train would sing an “A-Selection” and then come back to render a “B-selection”!!!) And after seeing the footage of this performance–I knew it was to be my SOTD. 
As I prepared to write this post, I did a bit of quick research and learned that Patti Austin reached the number 1 spot on the dance music chart with this hit back in ’81. Who knew?????????? And all this time, I thought I was the only who liked or remembered this one. But apparently, there were lots of folks feeling the same way!
